SOCIAL MEDIA- A BLESSING OR CURSE?

Every teen, almost every teen is addicted to social media which causes more negative effect than positive.

COMPARISON, hatred, jealousy, fake news, AI beauty and many more cause NEGATIVITIES on this platform.

“Social media is training us to compare our lives, instead of appreciating everything we are. No wonder why everyone is always depressed.”-Bill Murray

As we look into the past, the number of suicides has been increased to great extent also the age of romantic interaction has been come down. That is not the problem but everything has time of its own which is just always is great. Young girls compare themselves to others who most probably use AI beauty feature which cause a great impact on their mental health and results in mental illness and depression.

This is not only the case; social media is designed in such a way to be addictive but they were obviously not aware on the negativity which has been spread around. This generation have the most depressed youths, it would also increase in the coming years. We together need to stop this; we can stop this! Let’s make social media a better place.

Spreading awareness about this is need of the hour. Yes, social media is a great platform where we can showcase our talents, and share our opinions but if used correctly. My message to every teen is that unfollow that that stupid sad posts account, stop sharing depressed post, if you feel sad seek for help, talk to your friend or if necessary talk to an adult, come together and spread positivity, stop comparing yourself, embrace you flaws and your beauty, stop chasing after love and focus on you personal growth, compliment each other, reach out to your friend who’s been sharing sad/depressing post and be kind. We don’t know who’s going through what. be kind! Also, you all are beautiful, you all shine in your own ways.

Lastly, I would like to end upon the following, THERE IS A WORLD OUTSIDE MOBILE PHONE, BUT IF YOU CHOOSE TO STAY IN HERE ALEAST MAKE SURE IT’S POSITIVE FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH.
